You don’t need to have a partner or know anyone before joining.
You’ll also change partners every match, so you’ll have to quickly adjust to their playing style and vibe in real time.
After a first stage you'll get matched with partners with similar performances.
Winning a "Mix and Match" tournament means being able to adapt, motivate and communicate with many different players.
Great technique is important, but it's not enough to win if you're used to always playing with the same partner.
"Mix and Match" tournaments involve a continuous change of partners.
You start with a group stage, followed by a knockout stage divided into Gold and Silver League.
Everyone can organize a “Mix and Match” tournament. Masculine, feminine or mixed.
Plus it’s free, crazy fun and super simple.
All participants play an equal number of matches with different partners and against as many different opponents as possible.
Points are awarded individually.
At the end of the Group Stage, each player’s overall score is counted and then assigned as either Gold or Silver League accordingly.
Gold and Silver Leagues begin!
They’re both eliminatory and players keep changing partners throughout.
Partners are matched together based on similar performances.
The winners get a round of applause and champagne!
We started Mix and Match Tournaments in
Barcelona, Spain, in Spring 2024.
We’re a group of beach volleyball friends who often call ourselves “Pokes” – the name comes from an inside joke. Many of us met thanks to the vibrant Multicultural Volleyball community that we’re still grateful for.
For us, Mix and Match tournaments have been a really cool way to enjoy friendly yet competitive beach volley days while hanging out with new and old friends.
